The Flemish Giant rabbit is a very large breed of domestic rabbit (O. cuniculus domesticus), and is normally considered to be the largest breed of the species. Flemish giants are a utility breed, and are most commonly bred for fur and meat, although the breed is also known for its docile nature and patience in being handled,  meaning examples are commonly kept as pets as well. The fur of the Flemish Giant is known to be glossy and dense. Flemish Giant Rabbits weigh 6.8 Kg (15 lbs) on average, though the biggest ones can weigh up to 9.9 Kg (22 lbs), and the largest on record measured about 131 Centimeters (4 feet 3 inches) with a weight of 22 Kg (49 lbs).
